Possibilities to Study Abroad

1. Exchange Programs of the Department of Economics

The Department of Economics has exchange agreements with partner universities in Europe (Erasmus and Swiss Mobility Program) as well as with Economics Partners Worldwide.

If you want to apply for the Exchange Programs of the Department of Economics, please carefully read all the information provided on our website.

2. LMUExchange

The LMU International Office gives out several universal (=not restricted by subject) study abroad slots at host institutions worldwide. You can find an overview of LMUexchange partner universities and more information on the program on the LMUexchange website (German). Please note that the International Office and not the Economics Exchange Office is in charge of the LMUexchange program.

3. Independent Study Abroad

Highly motivated students also have the opportunity to organize a semester abroad themselves. In this case, you may apply individually and independently to any university you wish. However, please be aware that many universities do not accept students without an exchange agreement or charge high tuition fees for those students.

MQE (Master in Quantitative Economics) students can also have a look at European Doctoral Group in Economics (EDGE) exchange opportunities.

4. Internships Abroad (Erasmus+)

Student und Arbeitsmarkt, the career service of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), provides information on Erasmus+ internship scholarships.
